Despite the scandalous revelation of the the Environmental Protection Agency in the U.S., which announced that the 2.0-litre TDI four-cylinder used by the Volkswagen Group had software to cheat emissions testing, the German marque has actually recorded an increase in U.S. sales.
Last month, a total of 30,387 Volkswagen models were sold across the U.S, a 0.24 per cent increase over October 2014. The Volkswagen Tiguan celebrated the most dramatic rise in sales with 4815 units sold last month; 5716 units of the new VW Golf were sold in the U.S, and finally the large Volkswagen Touareg also celebrated a 45.3 per cent bump to 840 units.
Still it is clear that Volkswagen is committed to making things right and actively working to restore trust. Importantly, the German marque has yet to reveal sales figures for its diesel-powered models.
